There are two different categories of badminton teams in Kong Hwa School. They are School Team and Recreational Team.

For School Team, pupils are given the opportunity to be playing in competitions provided they are the top 10 players in the team. There are junior boys and girls team which comprises of pupils from P3 to P5 and senior boys and girls team which comprises of P6 pupils. These groups of pupils train three times a week free of charge.

For Recreational Team, this group of pupils will play badminton at a non-competitive environment. They are trained only once a week on every Friday 2.30pm to 4pm. This team comprises of pupils from P3 to P6. As space is very limited for badminton training, the school will only be able to accept not more than 25 pupils for the team. The pupils in P3 are able to choose badminton as one of their choices for CCA but it will only be under balloting basis.

Your child will be choosing CCA in primary three. If s/he is into serious badminton playing, do come for the School Team selection. They must know the basic skills in badminton. If your child is able to play a simple game, it will help them further to be selected.

If your child only wants to learn how to play badminton leisurely, you can enrol your child into Badminton Recreational Team. They will be taught how to execute the basic movements in badminton such as serving, lobbing, forehand and backhand lifting and also footwork. However, do take note that vacancy is very limited!

All our teams are coached under professional coaches and free of charge.
